OUR STORY
The band Monarch is an eclectic folk-rock band inspired by the sights and sounds of a bygone era. Based in Virginia Beach, the band got their start in 2022 as an acoustic duo playing throughout the Hampton Roads area of coastal Virginia but quickly became something greater. As time wore on, the duo soon turned to a full band complete with powerful guitar, soul-shaking bass, and booming drums that became a staple in the 757 music scene. With Clover Stokes as the lead singer and songwriter, each song packs a punch in one way or another. If you're looking for a band that can go from soft, heartfelt ballads to soulful hard rock all within one night, you came to the right place.
ABOUT CLOVER STOKES
Clover Stokes is the lead singer and songwriter of the band. With the extent of her vocal training being 7th grade choir, she's no stranger to breaking through obstacles. She began by singing around town at open mic nights where her voice and name quickly became well known by bar and restaurant patrons (as well as the owners!). High school is when she finally decided to make her dreams of being a performer reality, forming the acoustic duo and early foundations of the band Monarch. Stokes got her start writing songs at the age of 13 on her thrift score electric keyboard and hasn't stopped. Since then, she has begun writing, recording, and even performing her music live, much to the approval of the fanbase she's built locally. The band is a family operation with each member of the family helping on the back end. Our success is all thanks to dedication, support, and love!
